OUR PASSION
MUSIC | HERITAGE | LEADERSHIP
We bring music and history together to inspire and develop young leaders.
The OZY Youth Choir Honouring Defence Service is a COVID-Safe, non-profit organisation and one of the world’s first online choirs. We bring music and history together to inspire and develop young leaders through commemoration, education and welfare. Our main focus for 2021 is on music for mental health and social connection, bringing civilians, veterans and current serving defence families together online and in regional and rural areas through singing, music and the performing arts. We are a national (and now international!) choir giving everyone a place to belong (regardless of where they are posted) and a place to shine.
We practice and perform online and travel to perform for local, national and international events (COVID restrictions permitting). We are a seriously fun choir with a community spirit, bringing the spirit of the Aussie bush to the stage. We look forward to working with you to help you with your performance, vocal and musical skills. This year, we are also building our own online band/orchestra so if you or someone you know plays an instrument and would like to be part of our online Musicians Mob, please let us know.
We have sung at many important events such as the opening of Invictus Games Sydney 2018, Government House (NSW and Canberra) and The Western Front in France and Belgium 2018, and have run Peace projects both nationally and internationally.
We have some exciting online and offline performance opportunities planned for this year (COVID restrictions permitting) and hope to get back to face-to-face performances and practices through our local choir Mobs soon.
