11/11/2020 0 Comments International Peace Project 2020In partnership with the Aussies & Kiwis for ANZACs, the OZY Youth Choir Honouring Defence Service live-streamed their Remembrance Service. The Online event commenced just prior to 11am, to coincide with a 2 minute silence as the Nation reflects on our history honouring our heroes.
Many joined us via Facebook or YouTube (on both OZY Youth Choir pages or the Aussies & Kiwis for ANZACs pages) to watch the Remembrance Service and stand to remember those who sacrificed so much for the peace we have today. The Virtual International Peace Project Mash-Up Video of the Peace Together, co-written by Her Excellency Linda Hurley Governor-General of Australia and OJ Rushton, will be premiered during this event.
This service was followed by the premier of the Sing To Remember Festival, which was launched on the Aussies & Kiwis for ANZACs YouTube page as a YouTube playlist from 1pm.
Justin, the founder of Aussies for Anzac's introduced the event and acknowledging the traditional owners and custodians of the land. This was followed by an address from Anne Boillon, the Consulat-General of France. This was beautifully followed by the members of The OZY Youth Choir and young people presenting hand crafted messages of remembrance.
One of our Western Australia members, Caleb, read The Ode followed by The OZY Youth Choir Mob Leader, Rowena singing the last post. Many young people presented poems and join in the video mashups remembrance songs. Including a premiere of Peace Together a song co-written by Her Excellency Linda Hurley Governor-General of Australia and our Co-Founder and Creative Director, OJ Rushton.
It was an unique opportunity to unite voices from around the world as we Stand together in Peace, Stand for Veterans and their Families, Sing to Remember and Rethink Remembrance for the Next Generation as part of our 2020 Virtual International Peace Project for Remembrance Day!
After such a beautiful online remembrance event The Sing to Remember Festival was a great hit with 27 submissions to the playlist hosted on the Aussies and Kiwis for ANZACs youtube channel at 1pm.
